Tonight is the night - Operation Cloe Sleeps in Her Own Room.
Her bed has been relocated from our bedroom to her's, fresh sheets were put on, and she's been asleep since 8. Hopefully this will enable her to sleep through the night & not keep me up with all the little noises she makes.

Sitting - Part 2
The Clo can now sit herself up when she's laying on her belly. Adam was working with her last night on it. If he has his way, she'll be walking by the end of the week. :)
Aging...
...she would prefer not to do it.
Adelyn doesn't want to be 65 - she'd like to be just 5 - "...because 65 is big and old...like a dinosaur".

Chunky Monkey
Cloe had her 6 month well baby check yesterday. She weighed in at 14 lbs 7.5 ounces and was 24.75 inches tall. She also peed on the scale.
Rain Boots
Today marks day #2 of Adelyn wearing her Lady Bug Rain Boots, and there's no rain in the forecast until Saturday when we get the leftover rains of Tropical Storm Hannah.
This is all very reminiscent of the pink cowboy boots from last year....
(I'll be back later with pictures.)

Trip Down Memory Lane
When Cloe wears Adelyn's baby clothes (rarely at the same age Adelyn wore them), I get to take a trip down Memory Lane.
Suzy's Zoo Giraffe Gown
(This was Sydney's. Christy gave it to me when I was pregnant with Adelyn.)

Cloe can sit!
Over the past couple weeks, Cloe has been working on sitting by herself. She's finally mastered it!
I must say - she's pretty impressed with herself.
She's also started holding her own bottle and eating baby food. So far she's had avocado, sweet potatoes, banana, and mango. Today we're going to work on some peas. On the other hand, she's decided that naps are for babies - apparently she no longer is one - and doesn't think she needs to take any during the day.

Carnivorous (Fiberivorous) Washing Machine
I've been suspicious for a couple of months now about my washing machine. Suspicious that it's normal diet of water and Tide is no longer satisfying its hunger. Of course, I had no proof of this - until this morning.
We ran a cleaning cycle with those fun little tablets last night. When I went to start a load of laundry this morning, I noticed about 5 orphaned Adebug and Clo socks in the drum of our front loading washing. I remembered this happening last time too, but chalked it up to missing some when we transferred the wet stuff to the dryer. This time though, I saw something poking up from the rubber seal in the front of the washer. At first I thought it was leftover suds, as it was a gray-ish color. When I touched it, I realized it was a sock. I pulled it out, and it brought another little kid sock with it. So I reached my hand down, behind the rubber liner, and pulled out handfuls of Adebug's and Clo's socks. By the time I was done, we had found around 30 orphaned socks!
Funny thing is, since we got this washer, I couldn't figure out what kept happening to all of their socks - I thought maybe Clo's were lost around the house, since they're so small & maybe Adelyn's weren't coming back with her after staying with various family members - so I kept buying more socks.
Since these socks - mostly white - have endured countless loads of various colored laundry over the past 4 months, they are all a lovely shade of grayish blackish redish blueish. Looks like the ladies will be getting new socks.....and a high quality mesh bag for them to be washed in.
(Yes Mom, this means I'm going to Target today...I also need shampoo, shaving cream, razors....)

Climbing the Curtains - Literally
Last night, while tucking Adelyn into bed, I noticed one side of the brackets that hold her curtain rod in place were coming out of the wall. I called Adam up to see if he knew anything about it - nope. We then asked Adelyn what happened, "I wanted to touch my butterflies." She has butterflies hanging from her ceiling, and she tried to climb up the curtains in an effort touch them. She's quite the little problem solver. (and I think she's going to make me grey prematurely)

Oh Adelyn...
(We were on our way to my mom's house tonight, and Cloe started fussing and crying in her carseat.)
AB: Cloe's freakin' out in her head.
Me: Adelyn, you don't say freakin'.
AB: Momma, can you say it for me? So I don't have to say it again?
(Later on we were listening to the radio on our way home....)
AB: (laughs) Momma, why does he call his kids crackers? (laughs)
The song was Firecracker by Josh Turner which is not about crackers or kids. If you check it out, you'll know what I'm talking about....

Breakfast
I missed breakfast today between work and the kiddos, so I figured I'd make myself an early lunch. Adebug saw me getting the beef out the fridge, and asked what I was doing. Told her I was having an early lunch.
"You can't do that. That's wrong! You don't eat lunch first. You eat breakfast first, and a little later, you can have lunch. Do you understand me?"

Adam's in Trouble
Adam has been trying to teach Cloe how to crawl and sit up. She doesn't have the sitting up down yet, but today when I laid her down for tummy time, she got her up on her knees with her little behind in the air and pushed herself along. I'm not ready to have 2 mobile children.

Christmas in June
I have officially started my Christmas shopping! I got totally awesome stocking stuffers for Adebug and the boys.
Camping
Last night was Adebug and Daddy's much anticipated camping "trip". Adebug was so excited to sleep in the tent. We got her Ariel sleeping bag and princess pillow all set up so she could be "comfy cozy".

Pool Fun and Projects
We spent the evening on the deck last night. Adebug deemed the water "too chilly". However, Love Bug didn't have much of a problem with it. It was her first time in a pool.
Adebug also did some really cool pages from one of her Eric Carle project books. She did the lion and elephant last night. She sure loves her some glitter glue!
Cups of water were made in case the birds got thirsty, and a monkey got a boat ride!

Band Aids
I had to run down to the base today for a biopsy, so I picked the girls up from daycare early, because I'm not feeling well and didn't go to work. On the way home Adebug and I were discussing my doctor's appointment and the band aid on my arm. She says, "When I have a rash on my bottom, I can have a band aid on my arm, ok?" Sure....
