I've been suspicious for a couple of months now about my washing machine. Suspicious that it's normal diet of water and Tide is no longer satisfying its hunger. Of course, I had no proof of this - until this morning.
We ran a cleaning cycle with those fun little tablets last night. When I went to start a load of laundry this morning, I noticed about 5 orphaned
Adebug and Clo socks in the drum of our front loading washing. I remembered this happening last time too, but chalked it up to missing some when we transferred the wet stuff to the dryer. This time though, I saw something poking up from the rubber seal in the front of the washer. At first I thought it was leftover suds, as it was a gray-
ish color. When I touched it, I realized it was a sock. I pulled it out, and it brought another little kid sock with it. So I reached my hand down, behind the rubber liner, and pulled out
handfuls of
Adebug's and Clo's socks. By the time I was done, we had found around 30 orphaned socks!
Funny thing is, since we got this washer, I couldn't figure out what kept happening to all of their socks - I thought maybe Clo's were lost around the house, since they're so small & maybe
Adelyn's weren't coming back with her after staying with various family members - so I kept buying more socks.
Since these socks - mostly white - have endured countless loads of various colored laundry over the past 4 months, they are all a lovely shade of grayish blackish
redish blueish. Looks like the ladies will be getting new socks.....and a high quality mesh bag for them to be washed in.
(Yes Mom, this means I'm going to
Target today...I also need shampoo, shaving cream, razors....)
